Everything You Need to Know About Liveaboard Diving
You've decided to take an entire vacation to triton
bay liveaboard and take one big stride away from each day's diving spots --
or you're already hooked and have already scheduled your next liveaboard
adventure. Here are a few tips to consider before you embark on your
trip.
Acclimatize-Yourself
Many liveaboards sail far away from home, in multiple time zones. To allow
your body to adjust to the huge time difference and to sleep off jet lag, make
sure you arrive at least one day prior to departure. Divers often land, board
the vessel and then have a few days in a haze and sleep, or are unresponsive
during briefings or missing crucial details about the ship or diving practices.
If you must fly late, arriving a day earlier than planned will allow you to not
be worried about not getting the vessel.
Be Light
What you'll need when you're diving liveaboard: flip flops and quick drying
shorts or skirts, loose T-shirts, maybe a sarong or couple of sundresses, two
swimsuits or trunks as well as a fleece or hoodie to warm up a waterlogged body.
There's nothing else you need. Get rid of the makeup, the nice pants and
dresses, the multiple pairs of shoes, heck, even a full set of clothes for every
day home. We're sure you won't need them. You can use your luggage allowance to
store your dive equipment in case you own it.

Send any special requests early
Do you want to eat vegetarian meals on the vessel? Maybe you've got a food allergy or would prefer to use a smaller tank. When you make your booking, make sure to inform the company of any special requirements. It's not the time you get on the vessel. Most, if not all liveaboards are eager to meet guest requests if given enough time.
You Can Leave Your Marine Life Expectations at Home
Captain's reports are read for months, and you read about sea monsters, whale
sharks as well as mermaids, among other marine creatures. And, at the end,
you're upset because you didn't get to see the creatures. This doesn't
necessarily mean there's a possibility of seeing something on your charter even
if it's not the same week. Wild animals can be unpredictable and should be
treated accordingly. There is no guarantee of seeing them however, your group
will do all they can to maximize the chances of seeing them. While you wait,
take note of what you can observe.
Tip Money
Tip: Regardless of your cultural traditions or geographic location, you can
give a tip. The crews of liveaboards survive on tips. Crew members will work
tirelessly to ensure you enjoy a a memorable trip and that you're secure on your
journey. If they're not paid for their efforts, they'll quit and seek out other
employment because the base pay rate in the dive industry is not good. You must
budget 20% of the trip's cost in cash. Keep it in an envelope. There aren't many
companies that will pay tips for crew members using credit cards.
Don't be afraid to talk to your crew
Even even if they aren't native to your country, the crewmembers who are on
your trip want to talk to you and get to know them, so engage with them and get
to know them inasmuch as their respective languages allow. Don't be afraid to
tell your crew if there is an issue. They can't help you if they don’t know.
Concerns and questions about diving, assistance with your gear or want to have a
laugh, even the quietest of crewmembers is happy to chat.
Trip Insurance
It is crucial to have it. In the event of bad weather, misplaced dive
equipment or illness can ruin the trip. Even though any of these situations are
unavoidable, they don't need to be a concern if you have trip insurance. Illness
can ruin a charter for everyone aboard Don't be that person. If you choose to
take a dive even though you're sick it is possible to get injured, with blown
ears or damaged sinuses or infect the crew or other passengers. Take a break and
then try another time when you're at 100 percent.
Relax and enjoy yourself when making plans for your cruising Indonesia holiday. Don't sweat the small stuff. Is your camera malfunctioning? Let it go and take diving without looking through an eye-piece. Do you find your dive buddy annoying you? Switch it up or use a dive guide and meet some new people. liveaboard diving diving excursions are usually costly, complicated and unpredictably. Don't let this happen to you. You've signed up for an adventure, so you may like it.
